British TV personality and documentary filmaker Louis Theroux has just bought himself a storybook Colonial home across the pond – in Los Angeles to be exact. Theroux beams into living rooms across the globe in the television series Louis Theroux’s Weird Weekends, his BBC2 Specials and When Louis Met….

You may also recognize his famous last name. He’s the son of American travel writer and novelist Paul Theroux and brother of British novelist and broadcaster Marcel Theroux. He’s also cousin to Justin Theroux, who is engaged to America’s sweetheart, Jennifer Aniston.

According to public records, Theroux paid $1.225M for a beautifully maintained Colonial on tree-line street just a stone’s throw to Los Angeles’ Griffith Park. Traditional on the exterior, the home features so many original details throughout; hardwood floors, untouched crown moldings, built-in cabinets in the formal dining, breakfast room, and den. Jennifer Aniston is reportedly moving into to yet another high-priced estate. No, the actress didn’t buy another big-ticket estate after purchasing a $21M home in Bel Air in January. She and boyfriend Justin Theroux are actually moving into a super-swanky Asian Zen rental while the renovations are complete on the Bel Air home.

On the for-sale market for $11,500,000, Aniston scooped up the temporary digs as a lease for $40,000 a month. According to TMZ, Aniston was under contract to purchase the home and was getting title on the home today!

Designed by famed architect A. Quincy Jones, the house has been meticulously restored to be one of the city’s most beautiful mid-century mansions. Perched high on a promontory, the home has unobstructed 300-degree city and ocean views. It’s rare to find a home on that large of a lot in the start-studded neighborhood of Bel Air. While public records haven’t yet surfaced confirming the purchase, we’re inclined to believe that Jen Aniston would buy a home as magnificent as this one. She’s an architecture buff (just like ex-hubby Brad Pitt) and was without a trophy Los Angeles property since she sold her immense Beverly Hills crib last year for $38,000,000.

Update 11/10 – Our sources are reporting that Jennifer Aniston was asked point-blank at this week’s Glamour magazine awards about her recent Gramercy Park purchase. The actress and her rep denied the purchase, saying that they toured the apartment but opted not to buy it. Take that as you will, as most A-listers never want to reveal the truth about where they call home.
