Forget fancy heels and designer clothes: mom-to-be Jessica Simpson has put her passion for fashion aside and is all about baby number two. So much so that she’s completely ditching Sharon Osbourne’s exquisite master bedroom closet and converting it into a nursery! According to UsWeekly, Simpson and fiancé Eric Johnson are in escrow to buy The Talk co-host’s 11,000-square-foot mansion for $13 million and have already met with designers to transform the Osbourne’s former walk-in closet into a baby room.
The Price of Darkness and Sharon had been wrestling with selling the Hidden Hills home since July 2011 — at one point, the estate was even listed for rent for $50k a month. The Osbournes purchased the six-bedroom, 10-bath home in the equestrian community of Hidden Hills on August 3, 2007, for $12,388,500 and have settled on parting with the estate for just a smidge more than the purchase price at $13 million.
Located within the exclusive guard-gated community of Hidden Hills, Simpson’s soon-to-be home is situated on a private knoll and is a sophisticated Cape Cod-inspired estate located atop an intimate cul-de-sac. Featured in “Architectural Digest” in 2011, the grand residence rests on a 2.25 acre promontory with breathtaking city light and mountain views.
Reimagined by legendary interior designer Martyn Lawrence-Bullard, the magnificent home features the main home’s six bedrooms, as well as a guest apartment with kitchenette, intricately paneled study with fireplace, porte-cochere with motor court, exquisitely accented formal dining room, dramatic foyer with spiral staircase, floor-to-ceiling windows, and an expansive lower level studio/home theater space.
The family room is highlighted by oversized sliding barn doors, a reclaimed brick fireplace and beamed vaulted ceilings. The master suite offers a sitting area, stone fireplace, wood paneled walk-in closet, and an adjacent office. Expansive rear grounds include rolling lawns, a spa, barbeque island, outdoor shower, commode, and several seating enclaves.

Amid rumors that they’re secretly finalizing an amicable divorce, Joe and Tina Simpson have placed their “storybook” country english mansion in Encino, CA on the market for $4.395M. Parents to Jessica Simpson and younger sister Ashlee, Tina and Joe have become celebrity figures in their own right, due to their constant presence beside their famous daughters. Way back when, Joe was rumored to be a wedge between Jessica Simpson and her then-husband Nick Lachey. As we all know, those two eventually divorced and moved on to new lives that now involve babies and new career ventures. This home also has some bad marital “juju,” as it was the venue for Ashlee Simpson’s wedding to rocker Pete Wentz in 2008. That union ended in divorce.
So, while we wait for divorce rumors to be confirmed, we can look at this real estate move as a signal that Joe and Tina are headed that way. Dividing of the “marital assets” and selling of the family home is a common stop on the road to splitsville. If the divorce rumors aren’t true, perhaps Joe and Tina just want to downsize or need a change of scenery. We’ll have to wait and see.
What are they selling? Their estate is located in The Colony, a guard gated community of 19 estates in the heart of Encino’s Royal Oaks. The Simpson home is sited on over 1.5 acres and is epitome of “resort style” living. The copper turret entry beckons guests past a sprawling lawn with fountains to the grand rotunda. A formal living room features a pitched beamed ceiling and fireplace. The family room has a beamed ceiling, stone fireplace, wet bar, and wall of french doors. A breakfast room extends to the gourmet kitchen with Viking appliances and granite counters, a beamed ceiling, and butler’s pantry. A stunning formal dining room seats 10. Ascend the spiral staircase to the foyer. A master suite contains a fireplace, duel walk-in closets and stunning bath. The upstairs features 3 bedroom suites, perfect for a large family and grandkids! The home also comes complete with a professional theater and huge office. The grounds feature a fireplace, fire pit, wet bar, lagoon style pool and spa complete with grotto waterfall, sports court, gazebo, and putting range with views. The property also features a guest suite/gym with separate entrance and bathroom.

Update: On 10/24, Joe and Tina officially confirmed the divorce rumors, according to USWeekly.

There’s plenty of speculation happening about Jessica Simpson’s next steps on the real estate front as she preps for the arrival of her first child with fiance Eric Johnson. She’s been spotted touring big, beautiful properties on both coasts, so it’s likely the pop singer-turned fashion mogul will swoop in on something spectacular in the coming weeks. After all, it’s the classic celebrity real estate equation. New baby + new or impending marriage almost always = a fancy new home to nest in.
We’ve just received word from our friends over at the New York Post that Simpson and Johnson recently toured the spectacular penthouse at 25 Bond Street in New York City. Listed for sale for $19,500,000, but reportedly available for rent for $55,000 a month, the home is a big-time New York pad, and definitely spacious enough to accommodate the growing Simpson-Johnson family. With 5 bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, and about 7,300 square feet, there is room for a nursery, as well as Jess’ parents Joe and Tina, who are always photographed tagging along with their famous daughter.
The penthouse that Jess could make her East Coast home is a magnificent full-floor condominium loft in the coveted 25 Bond Street complex in the chic NoHo neighborhood. The full-floor home has grand proportions, soaring ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows, plus 4 parking spaces and private storage space. An NYC rarity, gorgeous bronze elevators open directly into the incredible 90-foot-long great room. An elegant chef’s kitchen is beautifully designed by Balthaup with an eat-at counter, top-of-the line finishes, double appliances, a wine cooler and an enormous walk-in pantry. On the south wing of the home there are 5 bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom. The master bedroom suite has a wood burning fireplace, an office, a private balcony, a dressing room and a luxurious master bathroom with a soaking tub, steam shower and double vanity. There is a mud room and laundry room with an adjoining full bathroom, plus a powder room for guests. The luxury building features a 24-hour doorman, private garden with outdoor barbeque and dining area and exercise room.
