5,000 square-fee duplex penthouse, 4 bedroom, 4.5 bath
The New York City penthouse which once housed the world-famous fashion mogul Calvin Klein is making its second on-the-market debut–this time for $35 million, reports The New York Times. The current owner Steve Gottlieb, who previously put the property on the market in 2008, was a neighbor to Klein and currently resides on the 18th floor below the property. He purchased the space for $8.6 million from the designer himself, and has since then been utilizing it as a party/event room.
Over the years, Mr. Klein coveted the 5,000 square-foot duplex so much that he owned it twice – apparently nothing could come between him and his penthouse. During his first ownership in the 80’s, Klein upgraded the home by installing a hot-tub on the roof-top terrace. After purchasing it a second time in the 90′s, he tore down the interior walls and created a larger, open living space with a strong minimalist design, a common theme seen throughout his fashion line and world-famous ads.
Mr. Gottlieb had major plans for his two 55 Central Park West penthouses, despite only using the upstairs property for party festivities for the past dozen years. His long-term plans included transforming the space into a three-bedroom family residence with a top-floor entertainment area, highlighted by a large corner terrace and fireplace. After investing around $5 million into renovations, Mr. Gottlieb is over his “Obsession,” and is ready to find a buyer.
The grand, two-level duplex penthouse includes twelve rooms, four bedrooms, and four and a half baths, totaling over 5,000 square feet, 300 of which border Central Park. Dramatic glass walls allow for natural sunlight to illuminate all throughout, and two large terraces perch you right over the park. A sprawling master suite with fireplace overlooks the Eastern and Northern terraces, and includes French Doors opening to the East-facing wrap terrace. Each spacious bedroom includes ample closets and full baths, en suite. The minimal design gives prospective buyers a fresh canvas to work with, allowing for original ideas and design to shine through this glass masterpiece onto all of New York.
Listing agents include John Burger of Brown Harris Stevens and Raphael De Niro and Howard Margolis of Prudential Douglas Elliman.

For once in his career, Derek Jeter is sliding away from home. His longtime New York City home, to be exact. Just this week, Jeter sold his 88th-floor penthouse to Brazilian business man Claudio Ferro for $15.5 million, as first reported by the New York Post.
Jeter bought the penthouse pad at Trump Tower directly from Donald Trump himself for $12.72 million in 2001. After almost a decade in the penthouse, he listed the East Side apartment for $20 million in 2010. No buyer stepped up to the plate and Jeter made the call to take it off the market. In April, the bonafide bachelor pad was back with a lower asking price – $17.95 million. Jeter didn’t get his full asking price for the home, but it was in no way a botched play. Jeter’s final sales price was still a cool $3 million more than what he paid for it.
So now the home is being traded to Ferro, and he’s getting an all-star abode! The 88th floor penthouse is set high amidst the tallest residential building on the eastside, the Trump World Tower. The location offers un-paralleled views of the Manhattan skyline and this particular penthouse has a bird’s eye view of the Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, Bank of America building, One World Trade and other key landmarked buildings framed by the Brooklyn, Williamsburg and Verrazano Bridges and the East & Hudson Rivers – the picturesque views are unsurpassed. Complimenting the views – Jeter’s former penthouse features 16 foot floor-to-ceiling windows, 4 bedrooms, 5.5 baths with 77 feet in length of grand entertaining space encompassing the living room, billiards room and formal dining room. A Creston system controls the lighting, audio, video and privacy shades with one touch of a button. Adding warmth and texture to the apartment is a wood burning fireplace, ultra-suede wallpaper, slate mantle and hardwood flooring.
Word on the street is that Jeter hasn’t yet put down more of his millions on a new place. He’s been staying under the radar and hopping from hotel-to-hotel until he finds another bachelor pad. But don’t worry about him not having a place to call home. He still owns this sprawling estate in Florida.

Russell Simmon’s high-priced NYC penthouse has hip hopped back onto the market. According to the fine folks at Curbed, Simmons has re-listed the place for $11M. This particular penthouse has a storied past on the real estate market. It originally made an appearance with an $11M price tag and almost sold to none other than fellow hip hop impresario Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs, but the deal fell through right after 9/11. When Simmons failed to sell to Diddy, the price fell to $8.2M. Without a buyer in sight, Simmons pulled the listing and presumably continued to live in the killer pad. 10 years and some extensive remodels later, the penthouse is back on the market for…$11M. The very same asking price as a decade ago.
Simmon’s penthouse is dubbed the ‘Lady Liberty Penthouse.’ This Financial District duplex penthouse condo has 7,175 square feet of interior space and approximately 3,500 square feet of exterior space, making it the ultimate downtown residence. A private landing leads you to phenomenal entertaining areas, living room, dining room, screening room, huge chef’s kitchen with breakfast room, library w/gas fireplace, 4 bedrooms, 4 full baths and a powder room. Throughout, 12 foot ceilings create a sense of volume.
In addition, there is a staff room with full bath, laundry room, closets galore – and that is just the lower level. Four exposures, barrel vaulted ceilings and handsome oak strip floors add to the uniqueness of Simmon’s property. The grand circular and architectural staircase takes you to the upper level which houses the sun flooded grand master suite, two huge setback terraces, a very cozy den, a kitchenette and much more.

Amid swirling rumors that Justin Timberlake is set to marry his lady love Jessica Biel any day now, the pop star is reportedly making another very adult move – he’s secretly selling his NYC penthouse!
According to the Real Estalker, JT first purchased Penthouse A in the Soho Mews building at 311 West Broadway in 2010 for $6.56M and is now selling for $7.65M.
Justin Timberlake‘s penthouse features 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, a gas burning fireplace, and a large, private, set-back wrap terrace. A dramatic glass curtain wall and 10’2 high ceiling offer unparalleled light and stunning views of Soho and the Empire State Building. A grand gallery entrance opens to a living room, perfectly designed to showcase a private art collection.
The kitchen boasts cabinetry of striated elm and smoked glass, Jet Mist granite, Sub-Zero refrigerator and wine storage, Miele ovens and dishwasher, a designer cooktop and fully-vented hood. The five-fixture master bath is appointed with Statuary marble, radiant heat floor, an oval freestanding tub, frameless glass-enclosed shower, Lefroy Brooks fixtures and a Valcucine vanity.
The second and third bedrooms also feature en-suite bathrooms with Valcucine vanities, Jet Mist granite and designer fixtures.
No word on why JT is bringing sexy back to the real estate market by selling this bachelor pad of a place, but we have a hunch it has to do with his impending nuptials.

4-bedroom, 3-bath, 3,000 square feet
Three-time Emmy winning actress Edie Falco has listed her modest 4-bedroom, 3-bath New York duplex for $5.5 million, according to our friend The Real Estalker. According to property records, Falco purchased the home in New York’s famous Tribeca neighborhood in July 2004 for $3.8 million.
Famously known for her role as Carmela Soprano on HBO’s award winning series ‘The Sopranos,’ Falco has been most recently saving lives as the star of Showtime’s hit drama ‘Nurse Jackie.’ With those two hit roles under her belt, it’s no surprise that Falco is one of only two actresses to receive a SAG, Golden Globe AND Emmy Award within the same year.
For an actress with that much talent comes an extremely busy schedule. That being said, interior design may have taken the backseat, as this 3,000 square foot condo has quite a demur personality with minimal color and design throughout. This property, however, has great potential and offers amazing views off both its terracces on the first and second story.
Hardwood floors run up and down the penthouse and 12-foot ceilings surrounded by various sky-high windows allow for a bright and spacious living area. The living room comes complete with a wood-burning fireplace attached to an exposed brick wall, welcoming a very urban, downtown ambiance. The open kitchen is newly renovated and features stainless steel appliances, as well as an island/bar eating area.
Deborah Grubman and David Dubin of the Corcoran Group hold the listing.

Bachelor pads are notoriously stereotyped as messy, poorly-taken-care-of dwellings with clothes all over the floor and an empty refrigerator. Enter Derek Jeter, who can officially counter that stereotype with his bachelor party penthouse at Trump World Tower. Newly RELISTED for $17,950,000, this isn’t the first time Jeter attempted to hit a real estate home run. According to the fine folks at Curbed, Jeter tried to to unload the home for $20 million big ones two years ago.

4,000 square-feet, 3 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms
New York Mets third baseman David Wright has been looking to turn a nice profit on the sale of his 4,000 square-foot, 4-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom Flatiron bachelor pad/penthouse - yet has had no luck. Originally listed for $7,850,000, Wright would have made a decent profit on the $6,100,000 he paid for the place in 2006. Except no buyer has stepped up to the plate, forcing Wright to go down the road of price reductions. To make matters worse, we hear rumblings that the current list price of $6,950,000 is still too high for this modern penthouse. Keep an eye on this property, sports fans. It might soon become a whole lot less expensive.
Wright has since moved on to a $12,000-a-month rental at Lucida building on the Upper East Side while he awaits a buyer for the penthouse.
The penthouse listing describes Wright’s building, The Infinity Flats, as “the premier loft condominium in the Flatiron District.” Infinity Flats offers a virtual doorman and key-lock elevators in the heart of one of downtown NY’s most vibrant and historic neighborhoods.
Wright’s full-floor bachelor pad loft offers dramatic and expansive living space, exquisite finishes, and total privacy. The great room is defined by a salt-water aquarium and a glass and stone gas fireplace. The floor-through layout offers 4-bedrooms including an over sized master suite, a large media room featuring a wall of 5 flat-screen TVs, 4.5 stunning bathrooms, plus a home office with bathroom en suite. The eat-in kitchen features professional appliances, storage and a marble island with wine cooler, as well as space for a full-sized dining table. One flight upstairs, the roof deck is fully equipped with enclosed hot tub, sound system, and gas grill.
