Former NFL star wide receiver and current ESPN analyst
6 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, 11,746 square feet, pool, pop star neighbor
Former NFL star wide receiver and current ESPN analyst Keyshawn Johnson is selling his sprawling Calabasas, CA estate for $8,495,000 - and he’s getting aggressive with the price chops to get away from his neighbor – none other than pop megastar Justin Bieber.
Keyshawn definitely isn’t a “Bielber” and actually has a much-publicized feud with Justin, who peeds uncontrollably in his white Ferrari through their residential neighborhood while young children play in the streets.
Johnson is sick and tired of living near Bieber, so he’s chopping the price of the home to move the sale along. Originally listed and then delisted in 2011, Johnson’s home popped back onto the market for December 2012 for $10.5 million. As Johnson’s issues with Bieber started to escalate, the asking price on his home started to drop. By February 2013, he’d chopped another $1.6 million off asking, but still couldn’t find a buyer. With his unruly neighbor continuing to cause him grief, Johnson decided to reduce the price yet again – slicing $400k off – bringing the home to its current asking price of $8.495 million.
Unruly pop star neighbor aside, Johnson’s house is a custom gem in the celebrity-infested Los Angeles suburb of Calabasas. Nestled inside the gated “Estates at the Oaks” community, Johnson’s for-sale home sits on a huge 1.86 acre lot that boasts views and privacy. Inside, 6 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms are also joined by a chef’s kitchen, game room, spa, sauna, elevator and theater.
The grounds of the estate include covered patios with an outdoor fireplace, sunken basketball/sports court, a pool with spa and expansive rolling lawns.
Don’t mind living near the Biebs? Go ahead and put Johnson out of his misery and make an offer!
Marc and Rory Shevin of Prudential hold the listing.

FOX NFL Analyst, Former Super Bowl Champ, Current Co-Host of "LIVE! With Kelly and Michael"
Michael Strahan is the man.
Not only is his post-NFL career at an all-time high after he snagged the co-hosting duties on “Live! With Kelly and Michael” when Regis Philbin retired, he also just sold his Bel Air home for a $3M profit in an off-market deal.
But here’s the kicker. He made the massive profit by doing NOTHING. You read that right – nothing!
According to a source close to the deal, Strahan found a buyer willing to pay $11M for the the home he bought for $7.9M in May 2012. The ink is drying on the contracts and sale is about to close, and according to sources, the home’s an outdated “teardown” that will need to be completely rebuilt, but because it’s on an acre of land in a killer Bel Air location, it was worth the higher price.
The Trulia Price Monitor shows that asking prices in Los Angeles are up 19.2%, and even higher in primo locations like Bel Air and Beverly Hills, so all Michael had to do was ride the market up and make some serious coin along the way.
While Strahan enjoys life in New York and pockets the $3M profit, the unknown buyer is picking up a 5 bedroom, 6.5 bath estate on an acre of land. Built in 1926, the “teardown” features Mediterranean influences throughout, with courtyard entry, glass walls, theater and bar. Additionally, the home includes a gym, sauna, detached guesthouse and swimming pool.
While it all sounds lovely, word is that the home’s new buyer will actually tear it down and put up a newer home on the prime piece of land.

Fiery redhead and star of the Grey's Anatomy spin-off 'Private Practice'
5,940 square feet, 4 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, guesthouse
Kate Walsh, the gorgeous, fiery redheaded actress best known for playing Dr. Addison Montgomery on Grey’s Anatomy and the spinoff Private Practice, has finally sold her glamorous and very “Private” Los Feliz mansion for $4,675,000. She originally tried to sell the home for $3,995,000 in October 2011, but never found a buyer to take the home off her hands for almost a million less than the $4,750,000 she paid for it in June 2007. Without a buyer in sight, she took the home off the market and then relisted it in May 2013 for $4,750,000 – exactly what she paid for the estate. A buyer came knocking shortly thereafter, and Walsh finally sold the estate for $4,675,000. While she didn’t take a massive loss on the stunning Spanish-style Los Feliz property, she did lose at least $75,000. Property records show the deal closed on June, 20, 2013.
The unknown buyer just purchased themselves a residence that features a large kitchen and family room that opens through French doors to beautiful garden with a spa, swimming pool and outdoor entertaining spaces. The main house is almost 6,000 square feet and has 4 bedrooms upstairs, each with en suite baths. In true Hollywood fashion, one bedroom is now a to-die-for walk-in closet. The gracious master suite has a fireplace, as does the den and the grand scale living room. The estate offers complete privacy and a circular drive way. A large 3-room guesthouse consists of 2 offices, a Pilates studio/gym and an updated bath.
Barry Sloane of Sotheby’s International Realty represented Walsh in the sale and Jon Grauman of Partners Trust Beverly Hills was the buyer’s agent.

Controversial former daytime talking head
6 bedrooms, 5.5. bathrooms, 11,104 square feet
Time to take down the “For Sale” sign? According to the always-in-the-know Real Estalker, chat show hostess Rosie O’Donnell has sold her waterfront mansion on Miami Beach’s Star Island for $12,675,000 to an unknown buyer. While property records do not yet reflect the sale, sources close to the deal say it’s in the bag.
Property records DO show that the actress, comedienne and former “The View” co-host bought the 1+ acre property in March 1999 for $6,750,000. O’Donnell first listed the home on the open market in March 2012 with a $19,500,000 price tag. In March 2013, the price was cut to $17,500,000. With no buyer coming forward with that kind of cold, hard cash, O’Donnell had to dig deeper into her profit margin to get the deal done.
The home is a gem on the high-priced celebrity enclave of Star Island and the entrance and brick motorcourt is punctuated by a massive tree. The home opens to a double height foyer and formal living and dining rooms. There’s also a den/library/office, media room, and a well-equipped, two-island kitchen that’s open to a family room and informal dining area. The second-floor bedrooms include a vast master suite with sitting room, fireplace, private office, and direct access to a large terrace that overlooks the water.

Host of The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson
8 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, 6,766 square feet
When late night talk show host Craig Ferguson opens The Late Late Show you can see the dotted lights of what appears to be the Hollywood Hills in the backdrop of his set. These might be staged, but in reality, this is where Ferguson calls home as he has recently sold and again bought in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles.
As we covered on the Luxe Blog last June, Ferguson put his 1930′s Spanish-style home on the market for a cool $1,195,000 and it has just recently sold for $1,740,000. Despite the lowered price, it still netted a nice profit for the savvy comedian, who purchased the home for only $569,000 in 1997.
Ferguson is now putting down deeper roots in the Hollywood Hills with the latest purchase of a fabulous new $4 million dollar home - one more than twice as large as his last one.
This 6,766 square-foot craftsman style home is set on a secluded property at the end of a private lane, the perfect retreat for someone who spends each weeknight broadcast into the homes of millions of Americans. The main home features eight bedrooms, nine bath, beautiful wood beams and other rustic features, as well as large windows and French doors that let in breezes and that world famous Southern California sunshine.
Step outside and you can enjoy incredible view of Los Angeles and the canyon where the home is situated, walk the manicured grounds to clear your head, or jump in the pool to cool off. Incredibly, there are three guesthouses on the property, which provides endless opportunities for entertaining.
